Neighborwoods
Shade and swings, chimes and hammocks; neighborhood trees are an important addition to making a house a home. Trees For Houston is committed to making all of Houston’s neighborhoods green through the NeighborWoods program. Together with the city of Houston, Trees For Houston is providing free trees and planting instructions to homeowners in neighborhoods throughout the city. Turning Houston’s neighborhoods into lush, green NeighborWoods will enhance the quality of life for all residents.
During our 3rd year of the NeighborWoods program, Gary Woods and his volunteers planted 1,951 trees planted for a total of 7,541 trees.
These NeighborWoods plantings include 173 trees in Bay Pointe, 66 trees in Boone Road Park; 267 in Brays Village East; 157 trees in Country Club Place; 74 in Idylwood; 25 in Kashmere Gardens; 500 in Sagemont; and 118 in Sharpstown.
