About Harris County Tree Registry
The Tree Registry was published to celebrate and encourage the preservation of greater Houston area's fine old trees. The registry is a record of the largest trees of all species that are alive or naturalized in Harris County. Tall Tales, the 4th edition of the Tree Registry, was designed by Savage Design and published by The Park People in 2005. Trees For Houston has now taken over this program and will publish the 5th edition in 2010.
The book lists over 250 trees in Harris County. "Champions" are the largest trees and those closest in size are listed as "Notables". Click here to download Tall Tales.

The Texas Forest Service has been an invaluable partner in the creation and maintenance of the Harris County Tree Registry. Trees For Houston is proud to begin working with the Texas Forest Service and American Forests towards our common goal of preserving and increasing the urban forest of Houston and Harris County.
