Tree Registry

Harris County established the tree registry to encourage the preservation of exceptional trees. It records the largest trees in the county by native or naturalized species. For the fifth edition in 2010, Trees For Houston has been given the responsibility for its publication.

Tall Tales, the tree registry, was published by The Park People in 2005 and produced by Savage Design.  The book now lists over 250 trees.

The Harris County Tree Registry depends significantly on the Texas Forest Service for its creation and maintenance.  We have always been proud to work with the Texas Forest Service.  In this project, we are also being joined by American Forests.
