Roots and Shoots 2023
Our 15th annual Roots & Shoots Sporting Clays Classic was a smashing success. We are grateful for 51 team purchasers supporting Trees For Houston’s mission and the 200 participants that joined us for a morning of fun and fundraising.
This year’s event raised more than $210,000 in support of Trees For Houston’s effort to grow, plant, and maintain trees across our region. Our organization grows, plants and distributes 70,000+ trees annually, shares technical planting advice and promotes the role of environmental steward in our community. We are eager for all event participants and supporters to visit us at our new Kinder Campus soon.
On behalf of the event chairs – Patricia and Tom Ritter – we extend big thanks to all the participants and sponsors – especially our leading sponsors Joe Cleary and Cleary Construction, DL Meacham, and Twinwood Farms and with our golf cart sponsor, Knapp Chevrolet.
To build excitement and community for this year’s event, we hosted a whiskey tasting and we would like to acknowledge and thank sponsors – Bank of Houston, Laura Mayer, Gentle Ben Spirits, William Price Distilling, and EnVibe, Inc.
Roots & Shoots in-kind sponsors Snooze, an AM Eatery, Faust Distributing and Gentle Ben spoiled participants with delicious food and drinks. Central Bank sponsored lunch cooked onsite by Ragin Cajun (yum!). Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP sponsored reusable tote bags for participants to carry their event goodies. Cleary Construction sponsored our signature raffle, which raised over $13,000. We appreciate the many raffle ticket purchasers – and delighted in seeing the smiles on each winner’s face. A special thanks to the 2023 committee and event volunteers who made this year’s event possible.
