2024 Sporting Clays Class Recap

Our 16th annual Roots & Shoots Sporting Clays Classic was a smashing success. We are grateful for 58 team purchasers supporting Trees For Houston’s mission and the 225 participants that joined us for a morning of fun and fundraising.

This year’s event was our largest turnout since its inception in 2008 and raised more than $270,000 in support of Trees For Houston’s effort to grow, plant, and maintain trees. How many trees does this represent? Approximately 14,000 trees spread across our region with the potential to sequester an estimated 700,000 pounds of carbon in the first year. WOW – an incredible impact!

On behalf of the event leadership committee – Kimberly Glasspool, Patricia Ritter, Tom Ritter, Kim Pinyopusarerk, and Lou Waters – we extend big thanks to all the participants and sponsors – especially our leading sponsors Joe Cleary and Cleary Construction, Hogue Landscape Services, Riveron / Hunton Andrews Kurth, and Twinwood Farms and our golf cart sponsor, Knapp Chevrolet and raffle sponsor, Bracewell LLP, which raised more than $15,000.

Roots & Shoots in-kind sponsors Snooze, an AM Eatery and Faust Distributing spoiled participants with delicious food and drinks. Central Bank sponsored lunch cooked onsite by Ragin Cajun (yum!). Laura Mayer with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty sponsored reusable tote bags for participants to carry their event goodies. A special thanks to the 2024 committee and event volunteers who made this year’s event possible.

Below please enjoy a recap video produced by Tom Koenig of Big Pineapple Productions, Winners List, All Scores (coming soon), photos by Daniel Ortiz Photography and Meredith Symonds Photography and a complete list of participants and sponsors.

Save the date for our 17th annual shoot – Friday, October 10, 2025!

THANK YOU to our 2024 participants!
