Roots and Shoots 2025

Our 17th annual Roots & Shoots Sporting Clays Classic smashed the record for the largest and most successful event to date. We are grateful for 62 team purchasers supporting Trees For Houston’s mission and the 240 participants who joined us for a morning of fun and fundraising.

This year’s event raised $293,000 in support of Trees For Houston’s effort to grow, plant, and maintain trees. How many trees does this represent? Approximately 750, 5-foot trees planted, watered & maintained for two years across our region. WOW – an incredible impact!

On behalf of the event leadership committee – Kimberly Glasspool, Kim Pinyopusarerk,  Rhett Rentrop, Patricia Ritter, Tom Ritter, and Lou Waters – we extend big thanks to all the participants and sponsors – especially our leading sponsors Ashlock Tree Nursery, Joe Cleary and Cleary Construction, and Twinwood Farms and our participant item sponsor, Hogue Landscape Services and raffle sponsor, Bracewell LLP, which raised more than $18,000.

Roots & Shoots in-kind sponsors Snooze, an AM Eatery, and Faust Distributing spoiled participants with delicious food and drinks. Mid-Con Energy Services sponsored lunch cooked onsite by Ragin Cajun (yum!). Laura Mayer with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty sponsored reusable tote bags for participants to carry their event goodies. Afterwards, guests were treated to a complimentary gun cleaning by Media Design. A special thanks to the 2025 committee, event volunteers, and the staff at The Greater Houston Sports Club who made this year’s event possible.
