Back by popular demand, we will be hosting an invasive plant species class, but this time virtually!
In this educational class, participants will learn what makes a plant invasive, how invasive species impact local ecosystems, and what can be done to manage their spread now that they are established in our area. This class will highlight several common invasive plant species found locally, including key characteristics to help you identify them. Participants will leave with practical guidance on what to do if an invasive plant is growing in their own yard and how they can help support healthier native ecosystems.
Whether you're a homeowner, nature enthusiast, or aspiring naturalist, this class will provide practical knowledge and tools to help you identify and manage invasive plants and take meaningful steps toward protecting our native ecosystems.
This class will be taught by the amazing Diana and Tom Philpot, who are Texas Master Naturalists and Bayou Land Conservancy Conservation Crew members!
